Harriet Walker Psychology

Dr Harriet Walker

DPsych, MSc, BA

I am a qualified Counselling Psychologist with experience working with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. These include challenges such as anxiety, stress, and low self-esteem, as well as specialist experience in phobias, eating difficulties, and body dysmorphic disorder. My eating disorder experience spans 8 years, across both NHS and private settings, supporting both adults and young people experiencing anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder.

I also work with children and adolescents more broadly, supporting them with the unique difficulties they may face and I am passionate about supporting young people navigate how these may impact their mental health.

My priority is to offer a warm and thoughtful space, where you feel safe and comfortable to talk openly about your experiences and concerns. I believe building an honest therapeutic relationship is fundamental to making sense of what you are going through and working towards meaningful change.

I work collaboratively, beginning with developing a shared understanding of your difficulties before exploring how we might approach them together. My practice draws on a range of psychological models to ensure the work is tailored to you as an individual. Our sessions will always be guided by your needs, and I will be active and transparent in sharing my thoughts to support deeper exploration and meaningful self-reflection.
